Kpop- (an abbreviation of Korean pop or Korean popular music) is a musical genre consisting of electronic, hip hop, pop, rock, and R&B music originating in South Korea. In addition to music, K-pop has grown into a popular subculture among teenagers and young adults around the world, resulting in widespread interest in the fashion and style of Korean idol groups and singers.

Super junior

Super Junior (Korean: 슈퍼주니어 Japanese: スーパージュニア), often referred to as SJ or SuJu (슈주), is a popular boy band from South Korea formed byS.M. Entertainment in 2005. The group debuted with 12 members: Leeteuk (Leader), Heechul, Han Geng, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk,Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kibum and later added a 13th member named Kyuhyun; they are one of the largest boy bands in the world. As of 2010, 10 members are active, due to Han Geng's lawsuit with SM Entertainment which led to him leaving the group (now pursuing his own singing career in the Mandarin-Pop entertainment industry), Kangin's temporary leave of absence for mandatory military service and Kibum's pursuit of an acting career.However, the other members have insisted that the three (Kangin, Kibum and Han Geng) are still part of the group, the group also mentioned that they are saddened by Han Geng's departure from the group.

Shinee (샤이니, stylized as SHINee, pronounced /ˈʃaɪniː/ "shiny" Japanese: シャイニー) is a contemporary R&B South Korean boy band.^[1] Formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2008, they made their debut on May 23, 2008 on SBS's Inkigayo with their promotional single, "Noona Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)" ("누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)", lit. "Older Girl, You're So Pretty (Replay)"). The group consists of Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho and Taemin.

Since their debut, Shinee has released two full-length albums, three mini-albums, and various singles. They have also won many awards, held a concert tour and starred in their own reality shows. Girls' Generation (Korean: 소녀시대, Hanja/Kanji: 少女時代; Sonyeo Sidae, Shōjo Jidai) is a nine-member South Korean girl group formed byS.M. Entertainment in 2007. The nine members are: Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona and Seohyun. They are often referred to as SoShi (소시, Hanja: 少時), or SNSD, the first of which is an abbreviation and the second, mainly used outside Korea, is an acronym of the group's Korean name So Nyuh Shi Dae.

The group has released two Korean full albums, three Korean mini-albums, one Japanese full album and various singles. Their 2009 hit single "Gee" holds the record for being the longest running No.1 song on KBS's Music Bank, having held the No.1 chart ranking for -9 consecutive weeks. Gee was named song of the decade by the Korean music site, Melon.^[1] The group also won various awards in 2009 and 2010, including consecutive Artist of the Year (Daesang) awards at the Seoul Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards, Melon Music Awards, and the Korean Cultural Entertainment Awards.

-AKB48 is a Japanese female idol group produced by Yasushi Akimoto.

The group has achieved enormous popularity in Japan. Its eight latest consecutive singles topped the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. "Beginner" and "Heavy Rotation" placed, respectively, 1st and 2nd in the list of Japan's best selling singles for the year 2010,^[1] while "Everyday, Kachūsha" and "Sakura no Ki ni Narō" lead the 2011 rankings so far.

Scandal -(スキャンダル Sukyandaru^?, stylized as SCANDAL) is a Japanese pop rock band. The group consists of four members: Haruna Ono,Tomomi Ogawa, Mami Sasazaki and Rina Suzuki.

The group was formed in August 2006, and they started performing at Osaka Castle Park shortly after their formation. They quickly gained popularity, and after their overseas concerts in France, United States and Hong Kong, became popular amongst overseas Japanese popular culture fans. They were also nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the 51st Japan Record Awards.

Their singles Scandal Nanka Buttobase and Haruka both peaked at the 3rd position on the Oricon charts.Their songs have also been used in animes such as Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist.

Morning Musume-Ang Morning Musume (モーニング娘。^?), kilala rin bilang Momusu (モームス。^?) at Momusue (モー娘。^?) sa mga pahayagan ay isang kilalang grupo sa bansang Hapon, na binubuo ng mga babae at bawat taon ay nagpapalit ng kanilang mga miyembro. 9Nine- (pronounced as nine) is a Japanese pop five member girl group. They were initially formed under LesPros entertainment in 2005 as a nine member idol group. They received great support from school girls, ranging from primary school to high school.

As of August 2010, 9nine has been signed under Sony Music Japan and will focus on becoming more of a "performance girls unit". Aside from singing, the group actively participates in the media scene as magazine models, actresses and variety regulars.

PARADISE GO!! GO!! is a all-girl J-Pop group on the avex trax label, also known as Parago. They started as out as 9souls, in 2003, minus members Risa, and Rika, who were added when Parago came out with Real Love, their fourth single. Every member has come from the CALESS school of music and dance. They are part of Girl's Box, which includes artists such as Kayo Aiko, Nagasawa Nao, dream, SweetS, Saito Michi, Hoshii Nanase, SEED, Baby B, and Vivace. They disbanded in 2006.
